The College was opened in the fall of 1824. The name was changed to &#8220;The Medical University of South Carolina&#8221; (MUSC) by [ SC Code of Laws ] <a href=\"https:\/\/scstatehouse.gov\/code\/t59c123.php\">Sec. 59-123-10<\/a>.&#8221; [ Source: SC 2021 Legislative Manual ]<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/scstatehouse.gov\/code\/t59c123.php\">Title 59, Chapter 123<\/a> of the SC Code of Laws governs the existence and organization of MUSC, which operates South Carolina State Government&#8217;s Own &#8220;Abortion&#8221; Facility.\u00a0 This includes the composition and election, the organization and powers, and designation as Medical University Hospital Authority&#8221; [ <a href=\"https:\/\/scstatehouse.gov\/code\/t59c123.php\">Section 59-123-60<\/a> ] of the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.musc.edu\/about\/leadership\/trustees\"><b>Board of<\/b><\/a> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/web.musc.edu\/about\/leadership\/trustees\">Trustees<\/a>,<\/strong> which &#8220;is the final authority and the governing body of The Medical University of South Carolina, its colleges, outreach programs, and ancillary functions.&#8221;<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>SC Code of Laws<br \/>\n<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/scstatehouse.gov\/code\/t59c123.php\">SECTION 59-123-40.<\/a> <b>Composition of board of trustees.<br \/>\n<\/b>&#8220;The management and control of the university shall be vested in a board of trustees, to be composed as follows:<br \/>\nthe Governor or his designee, ex officio, fourteen members to be elected by the General Assembly in joint assembly and one member to be appointed by the Governor. The Governor shall make the appointment based on merit regardless of race, color, creed, or gender and shall strive to assure that the membership of the board is representative of all citizens of the State of South Carolina.&#8221;<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/web.musc.edu\/about\/leadership\/trustees\">MUSC <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/web.musc.edu\/about\/leadership\/trustees\">Board of Trustees<br \/>\n<\/a><\/b>&#8220;The Board of Trustees is the final authority and the governing body of The Medical University of South Carolina, its colleges, outreach programs, and ancillary functions. The Board establishes the general policies of the University, defines educational programs, and approves annual budgets. The Board names the principal officers of the University, including the President and Vice Presidents. While of course far less in numbers, what is the difference qualitatively between the fascistic &#8220;Republican&#8221; Government of South Carolina in 2022 and that of the Nazi Regime&#8217;s Third Reich in the 1940&#8217;s in its disregard for the Creator God-given, inherent, unalienable, right to life ?
